you could do a pair of each, but you can find a better match than jacks imo

my large male jag is in a 180 with an argentea, synspilum, blackbelt and a nic. all adult fish except the nic. All get along fine except the jag and the blackbelt duke it out some times but its only when i give treats such as market shrimp or scallops.

Best answer..... Maybe. Depends on the fish, and the size of the tank. Starting them out together when small may help.

Jags also do great with trimacs, red devil, midas, on the large end. But if you want your dempsey you might try the jag, dempsey, a male salvini (gill spot is female), and a pair of convicts. My jag is currently with a pair of nics, a black belt, a pair of salvinis, a mota, a male convict and a male dempsey. All is well.
