giving the jag a bigger tank will give you more to work with as far as keeping the water clean. try to get your hands on a 75 gallon wether u buy it new or not. 75 gal is perfect for even a huge male (no tankmates). obv a 125 would be more than ideal but if you cant do it don't go crazy.some guys on here go nuts and want tell you you gotta buy a freakin house for these fish but its all smoke. if you really know what your doing you can pull of a minimum tank size for the fish.

Lol... bigger tanks are easier to look after if you actually do your weekly water changes as they dont get so dirty week by week! Imo a jag will never hit its full size in a 75 gallon... jags can exceed 18 inch which is the width of a 75..... if you really know what you are doing you get a proper size tank, not squeeze a fish into the smallest tank you can.

I was going to house mine in a 5x2x2 but when i saw the size of them i knew it would not work.

I do keep a pair and one thing i can tell you is they are messy eaters. So you need very good filtration and as much water as you can.
