i feed my baby jaguar cichlid lake minnows and he seems to lik them he ha somewht a hard time catching them but he dose .anyway is lake minnows a good enough diet for them.
I would say no just because they're not very balanced nutritionally. Feeders are high in fat and can sometimes contain bacteria and parasites that can be passed on to your baby jag. If you want him to be happy, healthy and colorful, feed him a pellet food and give the minnows to him once in a while as a treat =)
Probably just have to wait it out. When he gets hungry enough he will recognize the pellets as food. Try a different variety of foods too. Bloodworms would be a good try. Haven't met a fish yet that doesn't love bloodworms.
ok thnks and his eyes are alitle foggy but i did a water change and i not sure i there geting better or not how should i treat it or should i just wait it out
The way to get your fish to accept pellets and such is by actually starving them for 3 days or so - they won't die. Then feed them whatever and they WILL gobble it all up.
Could be nothing but it could get worse. Just keep the water parameters in check and keep an eye on him. The reason people don't like to use feeders is they can introduce disease into the aquarium. I think you'll find there are so many good pellet and frozen foods that there really isn't a need to feed live. Feed a good variety not just one type of pellet food only.
