my jag doesnt eat pellets either but does eat flakes, bloodworms, shrimp
 
Got my pairs to only accept pellets. I had one 10 years go was raised on goldfish and was given to me. Tried and tried with pellets without any success. Finally I had to get rid of him since he wouldn't breed and would only try to kill any fish that was put in the tank that was 120 gallons.
