Hm, mine seems to grow slow, I see my texas growing alot faster, maybe my jag hasnt hit a growth spurt yet?

well there are alot of facters in growth of fish, like, tank size, water quality, and proper feeding,. if you get all that down, they should grow fast

I have a 5" male Jag in my 180 since 10/29/2006. I feed him Hikari Gold pellets, frozen beefheart and bloodworms. I have only seen very little growth. Maybe a 1/4"-1/2".

I want to get to the bottom of this as well, I have a 4 inch-ish jag and he has barely grown since I bought him 6 months ago. He eats blood worms like crazy, but no growth.

in my exp mine dident grow alot until he was the top fish in the pecking order and my moto who im growin out by himself seem's too be growing quicker and to bulk him up i use giant mealworms, earthworms, krill, and spectrum he aslo loves pinkies and crayfish

sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes to see if your fish grow. i put our jag in the 125 in our green net 6"? took all of the black net 10" few months later 2-3 maybe?

if by ahli you mean blue ahli (african cichlid) I wouldn't feed him beefheart.... blu ahli are very sensitive to food and are actually herbivores and meat can kill them. I killed an entire dozen of blue ahli's not knowing this. I fed african cichlid pellets and believe it or not within a week they were all dead. I was so lost I couldn't figure it out. PH was stable, ammo, nitrite and trate were all prime. There were no signs of illness...... you just never expect the food i guess. Don't learn the way I did.

I agree 100%!Too much protien and not enough greens is very bad for these guys
