ya i thought it would be ok until he reached 7inch then i was pulling him out. I was way over stocked with 14 because i didn't know better. now im down to 7. I know i need to lose atleast 2 more now but they are all pretty small. Its just funny because all the other fish are fine and the water is good. I didn't think tank size would matter until he got alittle bigger.
The Jag should be that size in 3-4 months. I've raised them before and they grow faster than you think. My Midas/Red Devil is close to 7" and he was only about 3" in mid-October. Jags are not always aggressive and territorial when small. But generally after they reach 4-5" they begin to demand their own space. In a small tank things can go bad fast. In the meantime getting it to eat is the most important. Hopefully just holding back feeding for a few days will coax it to eat.

I had a 8 inch jag in a 55 with a midas and a 10 inch oscar and what do you think happened just before i upgraded ANSWER BELOW

HE KILLED THEM

Just a friendly FYI - my Male Jag grew from 1" to 9" in 8mo. Sometimes to entice a feeding response I've had to revert to feeders, then once they start eating daily mix in non live foods.
