Jaguar in community tank

Has anyone had success with a jag in community?

I had 2 (6 - 7inch) jaguars with 2 oscars in a growout tank and all doing fine. There is also a small petenia (3 inch) in the tank without any problem.

I had 2 female Chiapaheros Grammodes in the same tank (5-6 inch) but had to separate them from the Jags, they would have killed the Jags without a doubt. The Oscar and Chocolate will probably be able to stand up against the Jag.

I haven't got any experience with a Midas

My Oscar was the peace keeper. The JD and Jag would go at it from time to time, but my Oscar would swim between them as if to break it up every time.

Thats exactly what my largest Oscar does when my Kelberi and Petenia are getting ready to fight!
And when I added the 2 smaller WC Oscars in the tank this weekend the Kelberi was trying to have a go on them, the larger Oscar immediately protected them.

Has anyone had success with a jag in community?

If you call a community, one where the jag controls 4 feet of an 8 foot tank, and the other cichlids staying in the other 4 feet crowding themselves because the jag won't let them swim the rest of the tank, yeah it can be possible if you have a mellow jag. Whenever the 11" jag swam to the other side, the other cichlids quickly swam to the other side. The jag was the smallest when 1st introduced and fought its way to the top of the hierarchy over the course of 2 years. Other short term tank mates were a nicaraguan, chocolate, oscar, johanna pike, festae. I was basically playing musical tanks for a few years.

Nope.

How are the jags now with the O and chocolate cichlid ??
