I took your guys advice and kept the light off for the last two days. This morning i threw in a piece of krill then left the room for about 20 minutes. I came back and it was gone. so I threw in another and within 5 minutes it was gone. Looks like hes getting comfortable with his new surroundings . Hopefuly he will eat from my hand again, but im not too worried.

if you decide to treat with metronidazole later on,
maybe try the geltek brand liquid food for internal parasites. worked for me.

i believe i had a similar problem to you and was skeptical at first but my grammodes totally ate it after 2+ weeks without food and stressed to hell.

my poly had a worm and didn't eat for a while. look for a red "hickie" looking thing on his side eventually a worm bore a hole out of him. i picked it out and burnt it. damn thing almost killed my favorite fish!!!

guess what. those damn worms are back!!!!

he seems to be eating alright now but just hides all day long. He will never eat when im in the room, all he does is hide in his cave. I've been thinking of treating for internal parasites, what do you guys think?

They will keep coming back until you actually treat them with medication. Pulling them out and burning them may be fun but it won't fix the problem.
