Jaguar or Dovii Tankmates?

i have a decent size male jag in with other fish, and don't have any issues with him. i think mine is a bit mellower than most though.

Sorry to but in on the conversation but i was wondering what a jag is like to own, are they like oscars in their characters or are they shy.

thats a jag in his avatar, and i dont have one but from what other people say about theirs they are not shy, i dont know if they are as big beggers as Os but they def dont have a problem showing you that it is THEIR tank lol

and to OP about sexing them, you cant tell when they are little, but when they are bigger the males should have the broken up "Jaguar" pattern while the females will retain the big side spots of the juvies

jags growth speed is similar to oscars, another way of sexing jags is bye there fins, males will have a longer anal fin than females and males will also have more of a pointed anal fin as oppose to a female which will be more rounded.
