Definitely the Jag. In my opinion they're one of the most attractive cichlids.

And, I'm told, this guy is just "average looking" by Jag standards. So, presumably, most Jags out there look even better than this.

I couldn't choose. I'm the third to come out and say I voted both. I just love the oscar(Plus at my LFS you can get BEAUTIFULL ones 10x prettier than the one pictured before, and that was a exceptional O') for their personality, awesome body build, color, and even their behavior. But any Parachromis IMO ties with an oscar. IMO they'er both greath wet pets, Jags have more of a immediate 'wow' factor, but anyone who got to know what the Oscar truly is will eventually have a 'wow' moment. It's a personal Decision. If I got one it'd be an Oscar 'cause I already have a Parachromis.

i was never on the fence.. i've had oscars that i regretted getting, but i was sad when they left. i've always thought Jags were beautiful, and i've always wanted to get a pair.

i'm hoping for some jag fry that i can grow out someday soon.
