Hey MFK yesterday at my lfs they got a shipment in of "Rare" Wild "Zebra" Oscars and they look really cool they are white and black oscars and it made me think....I have a beautiful male jaguar right now but i cant put ANYTHING in the tank without it getting shredded....i LOVE my jaguar tho and i cant let him go....but on the other hand i REALLY want that oscar. Ive never seen any like it...id love to have both but i got no room and my jag would destroy the oscar...And id really love to see more than one fish in my tank and purchasing another is very expensive/:

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

thank you for the answers in advance!

WHat size are the Oscars? A lot of times smaller Oscars will have white coloring that turns to the orange we know and love as they grow.
If i'm right, maybe it'll help you decide!

They are bout 2 inches but u serious? Haha I mean like these guys were like WHITE haha the store manager said that's what's unique about them

I do believe the owner when he says they're wild caught, but i've had Oscars like this turn out orange. I believe their color is like that because a farmer hasn't been there to jack em up on chemicals/fish roids to make the orange show so brightly.

So your sayin they are just a reg oscars in its original natural state?

If they are doesn't that mean the are more prone to disease?

It sounds like you have no options. Something's gotta give. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

BTW, I had one of the so-called "Zebra-Oscars" and they will eventually lose that pattern (mine lost his at around 4")- they end up looking like regular Tiger Oscars once fully grown.
