jaguar pair -ID-???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lookin real fancy

Yes i got them from a store. They were allready a pair becouse they had all the ather group squized at the corner of the tank with alot of agression. In order to clean the tank , i give a battle. The male drew blood alot of times, his teeth are really painfull. So i gess their just normal captive breed???

The tank is 160 gal but very short 120cm *70cm*75cm. It has a 35gal sump with a big pump 1600gal/h.Because its so short only 4'' i cant put nothing inside.I tried convicts, firemouths, barbs, loaches. Only the salvini lasted a bit longer but nothing survived. They dont even tolerate plecos.
Is there enything i can use as dither.

They look captive bred to me maybe f2's would be my guess.

Captive by no means the fish is inferior to wilds. Your jags look better than some wilds i have seen. It all depends on genes. Wilds in most cases carry stronger genes ( as far as looks and proper body shape goes) than captives thats all. Like some jags you'll see with sort of a bent back shape the main culprit for that is generations of captive breeding.

For dithers try Silver dollars as CubanB said. I also had luck with pictus cats but large ones. Plus it seems that yours are quite aggressive so if you do go pictus cats watch out a little because they do have a sharp spine at the top of the dorsal and sometimes that causes issues with fish trying to eat them so get big ones.

Thanks guys you have been really helpfull. I think i will try the dollars.
I have in mind , a group of four 4inchers. They will do the job.If they dont,
i will let you know. Wont they attack the fry?
