Jaguar sex?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my opinion the first three pics are of a female jag fired up. The vent and body shape and lighter color look female to me. The next three pics look like a young male. Body and head shape and fins tell me male. Id bet the young male (fish from second three pics) goes through some significant changes in size and pattern in comparison to the female (fish from first three pics). That’s my hypothesis.

Funny cause op say first 3 pix are the same fish and the other are of a different fish. If someone says more than that then they smoking. I still say 1st female and 2nd male.

if second pic is same fish then male. It just did not say as much to me as 1 and 3. let me post a vid or 2 of my jags and you decide, as I did.

That's what I was thinking 1st one is female due to the body shape and the 2nd is a male because the head and body shape. But just to be safe I think I'm going to vent them this weekend before I decide. I'll post that up the results I get from venting.

This is a picture of the male genital papilla. Looks like a tiny pair of black fins. It never changes in size or shape. Females have a “ovipositor” which changes in size depending on mating. B0A0BFA0-043A-461F-B3B3-15296831BE10.png

Here are the vent pics
1st 2 are of 1 fish
The next 2 are different fish
And the last 2 pics are 2 different fish (runts of the group.)
