My male jag destroys plastic plants if I put any in. He marked up his head today from repeatedly trying to move a boulder out of his territory. He also tries to attack anything living including my dogs and small child. His eyes follow anything that moves in the room.

I have seen a few jags that were not as crazy, but my old females that I had were almost just as bad. Once they were mature they would not allow any tankmates.
I put my male in the 180, with the oscars and no dowt in my mind, the oscars would not last a week, the only fish that be left is the large pleco,.
Mine would kill the pleco too. I can't even have decent size snails with him.

I use to think so, but the jag does not know what to make of it, it shows no aggregation like a cichlid, he nips at him, pleco just moves to the side and then goes about being a pleco, Pleco is 14" common. after awhile the jag just gives up.

I bounce him between 2 tanks to keep the glass clean and decor. the 16" lives in the 180.

I know this is kinda off topic but at this sage is sexing my jaguar possible? It's about 3.5 inches long I'd say.

I would just stick with the pair of Jags if I were you man. Maybe the convict as a dither or target fish but I see major problems with a Midas sharing a tank with a pair of Jaguars.

your lucky if yours will tolerate plecos. Neither my male or female honduran will let a plec cohabitate with them. Within hours they are shredded right up

1. Should start your own new thread, in it post your tank size and setup and describe in detail what’s happening.

2. This is typical aggressive cichlid behavior, you can try a divider but more than likely you don’t have a big enough tank for 2 jags to coexist. Jags don’t pair easily and when they do it’s not “permanent” pairing you see with semi aggressive cichlids. Many male jags have destroyed their mate after several successful spawns

3. By using the word baby we have to assume they’re maybe 2-3” and nearly impossible to sex until quite a bit larger.
