jaguar tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
is it necessary? no ideal for sure but does not hurt them.

I am sure lots of folks that have jags know as much or probably more than me on this sight. I am also an Oscar guy. with a cat and BKG thrown in.

Homer giving me the stink eye, he wants his face time.

gibby, or common sail fin. does good job keeping things cleaned up like the glass and wood. and eating 4 wafers a day. vacuuming well every week a must as they are poop machines .

he about 14" ATM.

I like my pleco,s , I have 12" that I move to the jag tank then back to Homers tank to clean the glass and wood. does a great job, but they do need to be fed and they poop allot. long ropy poop. so you need to vacuum well at water change. cichlids do not see them as a territory threat per say? they will nip at them, but being a armored fish this a minor in convenience for them. and they can go on attack if the jags or Oscars piss them off enough.

I have a small common sail fin pleco that I've had for over a year now and its still only like 5 inches I do feed him the algae wafers when the lights go out but he has only grown like an inch since I've had him. He does do a hell of a job cleaning the glass though. And he does "attack" my 8 inch nicaraguan cichlid.

yup feed him wafers. they grow slow, but they do not stop growing. 5 years down the line he be 12" or better and they live for ever.
