Jaguar tank...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Another reason that I'm having second thoughts is that I don't want to have to put up with people saying "THAT TANKS TOO SMALL!" or "I bet he'd be happier in a bigger tank..." Like with a GT and a Sveni in there poeple wouldn't say that...

I hear ya man about the lying :) I've been telling people that my 13 inch jag is in a 55-gallon when infact its a 45 gallon!

I do 50-75% water changes every 2-days, but he is kinda jammed when he turns around in the tank..

I'm going for a 75-gallon myself, my issue is space. Just don't have that much room for big tanks.

Do you test your water? Those are very large water changes very close to each other. I can't imagine you or your fish enjoys that. Check nitrates for a few days and see if you really need to change that much water. I'm your fish would enjoy a more consistent tank. Not bashing you either just trying to make it easier on YOU and the fish.

Have you considered a smaller guapote like a freddy or mota? A jag is going to need at least a 6ft tank imo. He won't have any swimming room in a 4ft tank. I know that sucks to hear but there are some really great alternatives.

the biggest my floor can support is a 75 gallon... and I'd rather have a tank that the fish in it will have so much room it will make it feel like it's in a mansion. So I think I'm going to sell the jag....

Are you in an Apt? I am in a 3rd floor apt, and I have a 125g, 55g, 29g, and a 10g... my landlord doesn't know however...:WHOA:

I would take him back as well. I think you will be much happier with a fish that will thrive and be content in a 75g tank. I see on your wish list you have a texas cichlid. You could definitely do one of those in a 75 with some others, or even a pair. On the downside, you are taking a beautiful fish back to the lfs, but on the upside, you can get a different fish (not quite so large) to take its place. :headbang2
