Jaguar vs Dovii

dovii looks male and i'd say by the pic he looks to have the upper hand

It does look like the Dovii had the upper hand in this picture doesn't it.......and my friend also thinks it's a male, the only thing throwing me off is that the dorsal and anal fins are not at a sharp point and are more rounded off at the ends.

Here's a picture I was able to capture of my 6 inch female Jaguar and 5 inch Dovii going at it. I still can't figure out if the Dovii is a male or female. Usually my Jardini keeps my 180 gal tank in check but this time the Jag and Dovii went at it for a minute or so, the Dovii submitted in the end to the Jaguar.

The Jag might have won the fight but the Dovii had it's teeth clamped into her face in that pic.

Looks male from the pic.. need a better pic to be sure.

Also as for the pointed fin, sometimes that comes with age. My male had a rounded fin at 4.5 - 5".. Now it has a pointed fin at 7.5"
