Helo, my jaguar have problem in his swim bldder, he always at the bottom of the tank And he goes up only to eat.
There is something to do to help him?

I have him 2 years, and he already like that 8 months!! why it doesn't sound like his swim bladder?
tnx for help

Because you said he swims to the top to eat right,it sounds like he has perfect control of his swim
bladder,it could probably be a change in behavior is he the only one in the tank?Because if he is you might want to add some dithers to get him active.

I'm pretty sure that the problem is in his swim bladder because when he swims to the top of the tank he do it with his fins and it look like it really hard for him to do it and when he stops swimming he falls down like a stone.
there's just one pleco with him.

I give him tetra bits.
I do water changes every week, 20% each time.
I put salt in the water - 1 spoon for 5 gallons.
He is always like that:

if it was a swim bladder problem he would probably be swimming upside down alot. And after 8 months id think dropsy (bloat) would have set in by now. idk.

But there are many variations of swim bladder problem and They are caused by different reasons.
It all started when Sinsphilium hit him hard.
I'm hopeless, 8 months I waited for a miracle, Maybe he'll stay that way forever:(
