Your Jag is going to outgrow your GTs btw. Much faster growth rate, may end up killing the GTs depending on the aggression of the Jag

I agree, a male jaguar cichlid will likely test your GT's once he gets to a certain size. Depending how fast your GT's will grow (usually very slowly) you certainly run the risk of losing them at some point.

A Green Terror will breed with a Blue Acara (very similar), but that's about it. Generally speaking, South American cichlids cannot breed outside of their species whereas Central Americans will readily breed. The exception, as previously stated is the Festae (Red Terror). In my opinion this is just a Central American living in South American waters.

In terms of your current compatibility, my advice would be to either deck out your aquarium with hiding places or to acquire more Cichlids. The Jaguar is known to stalk and hunt its competitors, so ensure that the given sanctuaries are too small for the Jag to intrude. In terms of adding cichlids, the concept would be adding a few slightly larger cichlids to help divide the aggression and at some point, remove them. This enhances the possibility of the Jag becoming more tolerant of tank mates.

my jag has 2 nasty fangs and he gets into staredowns with some of my fish but it stops at that. he gets *****ed out by my firemouth and im thinkin ohhh man if that firemouth even knew wat tht jag was capable of. but my fish are constantly in eachothers face. there is not that much territory and I think that is whats keeping it together everyone is just tolerant and plus I keep all of them very well fed wich I am told is a big factor.watcha think? truthfully I trust my jag but I just hope it stays that way cuz I like the other fish too lol!

I don't think food has much to do with it. Once the jag gets to a certain age (usually sexual maturity) it may decide it doesn't want tankmates anymore, and then you won't have green terrors. The truth is that every cichlid is different and there are exceptions to the rule, but it's good to understand what can and does sometimes happen. People frequently report their jags, red devils, etc. snapping overnight and murdering everything in the tank. It's just the nature of some fish.

man u aint kiddin, that's all I ever hear and EVERYONE has been warning me, I appreciate the concern tho guys and I definitely will keep u all posted. wen I did buy my jag he was about 1 inch and all my other fish wer like 4 inches . he was a confident active little guy with light coloring wen I bought him then he turned into a paranoid hiding little black fish, he eventually gained confidence and now has NO issue with assereting himself during feeding time. its soo weird to me how tolerant he is of his tank "buddies" if we cud still call em that lol butyea hes nutiin like the other 7 inch one I had that fish wanted to DESTROY anything in its path. he was a murder first ask questions after he eats u type of fish lmao! if worst comes to worst ill buy a 55 or 75 for my other fishies and I guess the jaw will hav the 125 to himself but I highly doubt that will happen and im also crossing my fingers (and im sure the other fish are crossing their fins )lol

i got my jag with 2 severum and a couple of angel cic i know that as he get bigger he well get more territorial but i had to get him he was perfect size at the time
