So my uncle Mark and Grandfather live together up the road. i never really go there anymore seeing as my sick grandmother now lives with us. Uncle Mark did some bad things and is now is jail for 6 months (as of early august). Uncle Mark kept a 55 with 2 small bullhead catfish and a bluegill. He kept it really nice, fish were healthy but starting to get big, a day he was dreading, but he never got the chance to euthanize them, because he went to jail. I went up there like a week after to remove the fish because i knew my grandfather couldnt keep the tank running as smoothly as my unlce did or at all. he said no i can do it, water changes, feedings. and when they get TOO big ill take em out and kill them. I said fine (figuring he was going to do it). He comes down to my house today. "Boy, go have a look at the tank the fish are acting funny." So a quick bike ride up the road to find 2x 15 inch bullheads and a 6 inch bullgill in the nastiest tank ive ever seen. It smelt like hell in a tank, it was horrible. The fish had died.
RIP 2x 15 inch bullhead catfish
1x 6 inch Bluegill
moral of the story:
Weak old men cannot upkeep 55gal native tanks
lesson learned. After i get everything cleaned up im figuring he might give the 55 to me. Only + in this situation though.
