And how come there are so few monsterfishes in Monsterfiskeepers photo of the month contest ?

various large catfish, Cichla, lungfish, barramundi, armatus, rays, snakehead, etc

Those aren't good enough?

The sites name may be monsterfishkeepers but its not for just LARGE sized fish monsters can come in all shapes and sizes, some of the meanest fish can come in small packages. If you see each section we have on this site all the fish in these photos can go to a section on this website so there is no reason they can't be here just because they are not large fish, Its not large monster fish of the month its photo of the month.

I am glad to finally see a lot of you voting based off the photos and not just the fish =] Makes it more worth while for the people who put in the effort to take a good photo even though they dont have the most "loved" fish around.

Now .. i absolutely agree, and actually keep small monsters like poisones bee-sting gobies or even tiny schools of puffers. but i maintain my position...an Endlers guppy is more of a monsterfish than the colourful cholcid in picture nr 7. The fish in it self is just beautyfull... but is it a Bolivian butterflychiclid ( probably wrongfulle named due to poor translating on my part ? or a "sand eater" i surtantly remember that it is a peaceful one...
Might i suggest that we need more classes ? best monster and best fish photo to beguin with ... And just in case...cudos to the nr 7 keeper, nice fish dude !!

i fully agree that picture nr 7 is absolutely the best quality photo, but admitting it to this contest is like having a picture of a Saab in a Volvo contest right ?
it is after all picture of a colourful feeder....

Hi Chaca,

Thanks for your contribution, and welcome to MonsterFishKeepers. You are clearly an asset to the community.

It's a Geophagus sp. "Araguaia Orange Head" and it's as welcome on this forum as any Arowana or Peacock Bass.

Now there is an intresting idea monster fish of the month.....

ttt

VOTE!!!!

I might have overlooked something, but...how do i vote ? How does anybody vote ? i get a message that i am not allowed.... i have tried both logged in and out. Wanted to vote for the ampfhibium, but then i dawned on me ... thinking that it is`nt a fish... So no vote...staying true to how i read this wondeful sites name...
So a "Monster of the month" contest would be helpful ...

Much respect to the photograph who took the nr 7 picture... and equally respect to the aquarist who has brought it forth ..it looks impeckable.

Thankyou for letting me be the newbi who apparently dont know **** about ****, about being a little humble regarding how to behave my self.
Sorry if i thread on any toes, i am just a little eager...wanting to flaunt all my meanings at once like all newbies do, i guess...
