jap trucks

It is drilled into any one that has to take HR classes perception is everything. Not how you perceive what you have said, but how it can or is perceived by others. That being said I can certainly identify with the term "Jap" as being derogatory. perhaps the admins can change this to Japanese instead of Jap.
just a bit of defence here, in the UK it is not considered a derogatory term, in fact some big japanese car shows are called Japfest etc here, until about 2 mins ago i didn't realise in the USA it is considered an offensive term.

A poop storm might have ensued a year or so ago but nowadays with there being so little traffic here it probably wont get much notice.
well for a start it's got rover in the name hahaha. they have a rep for being unreliable. they will go anywhere just not when you want them too.
all jokes aside it's the maintance with the LR that becomes a chore, because its constant. there is always a job that needs to be done whether is a major job or just a niggle that plays on your mind. all LR owners will agree it's a labour of love, but great for the avid garage guy. for example my discovery had a niggle, a little noise in the gearbox, I changed the clutch twice in two weeks no one not even LR could tell me what it was. i eventually took it to a "LR guy" he drove it 100m got out walked into his shed, came out, through me a copper bush told me soak in in engine oil overnight pull the gearbox and slide it in front of the clutch. boom perfect probably a $2 bush sorted it. on with the next job.
with japanese trucks, they are just reliable and built to last. since i left the closed door following of LR my eyes have been opened. less garage time means more mud time lol and you can drive these trucks to destruction. this is my third and even though i have a calling for another LR i just wont do it lol.
on our skinny arse roads and stupid fuel cost they feel big and just work.
