Japanese Hair Straightening... anyone ever do it?

My wife had it done when we lived in Japan, it stayed straight for months and only had to get it touched up as her hair grew. the process took several hours though and was fairly expensive.

Yes, it took about 4 hours for me. =(

Did she blow dry her hair at all afterward or just wear it as is?
