  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well I just about put money down on this guy to hold him and now im not so sure i even want one...

I always knew they were more agro than silvers but I didnt think about it almost having to be a single fish tank.

i would say its a gamble .....depends on the fish depends on the other fish..will the others make him agressive...ihave had alot of fish that were not supose to be together and had great results
i have a 15" jardini with whole host of fish and they all get along real good

good luck

Yea but leichardi is hard to come by

I have a jar, he's about 6'' right now. In a tank with a 12'' silver, a couple of spotted gars, and a tiger shovelnose. I bought him when he was about 4'', making sure he was smaller than all the others. He has shown no signs of aggression at all, if anything, the silver picks on him alot.

you never know until you try i think it depends on that particular Jar
its up to to you if want to try

Everyone I have seen has been aggressive. They seem to pick one tank mate that they will allow.

there used to be a sticky on this subject, had many replies. It's burried somewhere so you'd have to do a search and dig it up.

It really is a hit or miss with this one

Go to the media lounge for aro's and you can see my post from yesterday. You'll see my jar who is more than double yours with no aggression issues. Pics of tank mates are included in the post. An oscar and a snook are included in the tank who are very mild mannered along with a managuense, motaguense and a convict in a 180. This doesn't mean it will work for you, I'm just saying that not all Jar's are murders..... and who knows maybe some day mine will turn, but generally speaking they turn at around 8-10" and mine is far beyound that.
