hey uh when do u think my jardini that is 6~7 inches gonna be aggressive?
i currently have a 14" black arow,10" silver arow,1 4" fei feng,1 5" datnoid,1 7" RTGG with the jardini,
Tank:160 gallon
60x24x24
if it does get aggressive would it kill the arows?my jar hasnt shown any sign of agression, its really peaceful,im going to add a 4"~5" african arow soon

I always thought Jars were the most aggressive Aros, but my last few have been very calm. My 18" Jar is doing fine with a smaller silver. I also had a Jar with my two blacks as well. I think if you raise them by themselves they become much more aggressive. I recently just picked up 3 Leis and they seem to be more aggressive then the Jars. I would have thought the opposite, but these little guys are chasing everything in the tank. I might have to end up setting up another grow out tank.

well I have a juve jar with me also, his with a 1 cichlid, well no aggresion yet still 6"

im guessing that if u raised a jar at a small size with bigger tankmates then it wont be aggressive lol

With Jar you just can't predict anything. Normally its aggression starts visible once it hits 8" mark.

I think your tank is overstocked.

i wonder what koji has to say

If I was you, my concern will be the datnoid and the RTGG, since those two may show aggression toward the arowana. However, datnoid is good in defending itself, so most likely your RTGG gotta go when you see that he can't no longer take the beating. BTW, if you want to add an African aro, you better get one about the same size of your Jar

People keep giving Jar a bad rep, when they're the one who doesn't understand the fish. The aggression in any type of arowanas are pretty much the same. It's not the arowana that starts the fight. It's the tankmate that starts the fight, but unable to finish it. The way arowana fight or attack is launching itself into the opponent like a torpedo. With black or silver, due to the long body, it will slow them down in launching or turning, while in Jardini, Leichardti or Asian aros, the shorter body will give them more speed, yield more force when they knock their tankmate. When the arowana is 4-5 inches or less, they can only cause damage to fins and scales, but when they're 8" or bigger, you can bet that they'll break some bone, cause some internal damage when they knock the common sense out of their tankmate.

You have 3 Leis gang up on a Jar :D Put two more Jars in, and they'll square it up ;)
