i'm pretty new to all this aro stuff

just want to know what is the difference between jardini and asian? i know they come from different places but do they

look different?
different colours?
size different?

pictures would help:)

The Australian Arowana are the smallest species of Arowana. Australian Arowana has 7 layers of scales and thier color is more likely to be coppery-gold. They are also the most agressive among the Arowana species, better left alone in the tank. They also have some spots on thier anal, dorsal, and caudal fins. There are two types of species of Australian aro which are: Scleropages Jardini and Scleropages Leichardti

The Asian Arowana (Scleropages Formosus), have 5 layers of scales. They are more peaceful and larger than the Australian counterpart. They can be kept with big and peaceful types of fishies (ex: Stingrays, Plecos, Bichirs, Flagtail, Datnoids, Catfishes). There are a lot colors of an Asian Aro (most expensive to the least):
1. Xback or Crossback
2. Super Red
3. RTG, Red Tailed Golden
4. Malaysian Gold/ Green

the bros above have covered most of the basic differences, so I'll just add a pic of mine. The jar is the one with a frog in its mouth... ;)

That's one dead frog, by the way what fish is that on the lower right side?

Xback/Crossback is the same as Malaysian Gold unless it is classified differently in the Philippines lfs.
my understanding too is that they are the same, according to the asian aro books i have. Malaysian Gold is xback, and Indonesian Gold is RTG.

in dark_knights_99's post, #4 should probably be something like this, though i'm no expert.
4. green/yellowtail/1.5 red (hybrid)
