i currently have a 4 inch jardini, with a 6 inch common pleco.
they are in a 50 gal long tink. it seems to empty... and i know the jardinis are the more agressive. but is there any types of fish i can keep with it as it grows up without them fighting?

like.. 8inch columbian shark? or... 2.5inch clonw loaches? orr ... 9 inch clown knife fish? let me know
thanks!

you have a future home for the jardini that grows to around 3 feet right? 50 gallons won't be empty for long

but that stuff apart, bottom dwellers are good to keep with aros, less chance they'll fight, personally i like clown loaches and birchirs

no chance on having a tank mate with your jardini.
i had a 13ich jardini and i have tryed to put in with him a purrno catfish, tsn and niger catfish and all got beaten by my jardini, all the catfish was bigger than him aswell.
in the end it was the jardini or the tsn and i kept the tiger and the jardini had to go.
soon your jardini will turn and attack any think.

best of luck

I guess it depends on the particular fish, i had a friend raise a 2.5" Jardini with some 1.5" clown loaches and a 2" albino rainbow shark. The Jardini grew to 11" in the same tank while the others stayed almost the same size, they were never attacked. The Jar was fed fish meat, crickets, and pellets.

Well firstly there is no way a Jardini will reach 3ft....well maybe but very uncommon. Some wild caughts may reach it.

Secondly, tankmates with jardini are generally a bad idea but ill say it again....

There are always exceptions to the rule. It may or may not work...TRIAL & ERROR.

This is really the only way you are going to be able to find out. Each jardini is different. You may have a mellow or very aggressive one. I myself have seen quite a few that will tolerate tankmates and I have seen quite a few that will destroy everything....

Good luck.

BTW clown loaches may be a bad option unless they are HUGE.

They actually have spines near their gills. If the Jardini decides to have a go at them it could be a very unhappy ending :(

Couldnt have said it better myself.
except for "trail & error"
I would have said "trial and error":j/k:

You'll never know untill you try it. I've had several fish that "would never work together" in the same tank and be just fine.

I was getting at the idea of adding fish to a tank that houses a fish that the tank will soon be too small for is a bad idea.

I thought clown loaches was a good idea because I've seen it work. I know that they have sharp spines and fins, I believed this prevented the aro my friend had from attacking them but that is assuming the aro knew this somehow, maybe he sampled one of them and had to let it go and learned his lesson.
