Jardini Arowana

Jardini aggression varies with each individual fish. Some people say around 8"-10" the mean streak comes out, others say 10"-to 12"... I think it really depends on the fish. Jars also seem to be slow growers as opposed to silvers(my little jar has only grown about 1/2"/month). I'm not sure on cichla growth(never owned any) ,But I'd be worried that the p-bass may out grow and eat your jar:WHOA:
Good luck and post up some pics :grinno:...

Pbass grow pretty quickly if you give them feeders or once theyre pellet trained. I've been quite busy and just started my pellet training regiment for my small monos yesterday and have only been feeding them frozen bloodworms and fd krill before that so they grew really slow. Not too worried about the jar, it would take a cichla at least 10" to eat him as he is.

Nice jar! The 'asian tropical fish' store by me just got 5 in and I was moments away from purchasing one. I love their look, it's just their color that throws me off a bit. Anyone know of any significant color change with fd krill feeding? Pinkish/reddish at all?

i feed market shrimp, market tilapia, fd jumbo krill, meal worms, feeders, hikari aro stick, massivore & crickets and my jar shows better colors. more solid pink on scales some even becoming red overall looks kinda like goldish + pink/red and it looks sharper. before it looked so dull and bland now its really nice:)

x2...I use the same food...also another way to enhance their color is to feed the mealworms carrots before feeding them to your jar :D.

I have a really cheap camera so the pics I post don't do any of my fish justice. They look so much better in person.

how did you guys train your jar to eat? My jar is always staying near the bottom of the tank and doesnt go to the top much. I've had silver aros before and they were always near the surface so it was pretty easy to get them to eat.

My 12" Jardini doesn't seem to bother anyone in my tank, so far. Just minds his own business. But nothing in the tank ever bothers him either.
