There may be a disinterest for the food, when the live food was suggested to revive the hunger of fish
Here we use live food rich in protein like Branchipus stagnalis, Tenebrio molitor (larva), Enchytraeus albidus.
At my personal experience i note that this is a big
ally against desinterrese by food

So as soon as you get a new fish and it don't eat you automatically feed it live? Why not let the fish adjust to it's new environment? If it is healthy, it will eat within a few days after becoming comfortable with it's new surroundings.

Have you ever had any experience with the feeding habits of juvi arowana?

if your Jar is between 3-8" Hope this helps: I also had a jar that was VERY PICKY with food, would not readily accept pellets, nor would he accept Market P. for that matter, he always would prefer live food (SUPERWORMS, Crickets, HOUSE LIZARDS, and homegrown FEMALE BETTAS were his favorite) I read somewhere to do this trick:

A) for 3 days let you Aro gourge on his favorite meal (live feeds or whatever his fav meal is) - keep in mind that the key here is to feed the exact amount of food to the fish for 3 days (ex: 6-10 SUPERWORMS/day Consistently!!)

B) on the 4th-6th days DONT FEED ANYTHING, hopefully with your new jar used to a sizeable amount of foods fed during the previous days his tummy would be aching to have a bite (like cheech with the munchies)

C) on the 7th day feed him HIKARI food sticks

D) if he still wont accept the pellets starve for 1 more day and repeat step C on the following day - continue and dont give in (you're the master not your Jar:) )

E) if A-D failed ; dip the food sticks in Garlic Oil or try feeding thinly sliced beef/chicken heart spiked with hikari food sticks

.... slightly matured Jars 10" and above would be a bit more difficult to train with this routine IMHO

don't give up, he will eventually accept the sticks it's just a matter of "when"
