Hi fish folk.
I love Asian arowana and have wanted one for a while. However they are silly prices so with not being able to part with that kind of cash, I saw the opportunity to grab an 8 inch jardini. Straight away he gave my 14 inch silver aro a hard time so decided to move on the silver. So anyway I read and read and read about jardinis and to be honest got 60% tank killers, 40% can live with other fish...... So, anyone on here had or have a jardini who can tell me what to believe?
I intend on getting two peacock bass and two mini marble stingrays to go in the tank with him.
Can this be done?

Tank size is an indisputable factor. How big is the tank?
I agree that tank size is a big component to having a community tank. I’ve seen a 600gal hold several Jardini and Leichardti arowanas with several Barramundi fish. In my personal experience after keeping 3 Jardinis is that they are pretty mellow when small. Once they hit that 8”+ mark, they become very aggressive and territorial literally attacking everything. I only have a 125gal so I keep them solo for that reason.

I love Asian arowana too and Leichardti arowanas are more mellow and still have the look when they get full size.

I was literally just clicking on this site when your post come through. He's around 9 inch now. Very shy of the bigger fish but chases my orange severum around. Hasn't bit or attacked yet but I can see he really wants to. I've just rescued a huge albino giant gourami which seems to be acting like a police man and if there's any aggression he nudges the aggressor. Hopefully he will keep the jardini in check.... For now.

Nice! Since I’m in the US, Jars are the closest thing to Asian aros I can get (legally). Keep us posted on him.
