My baby jardini is dead, I dont know what happen.

It was fine yesterday and I DID miss a water change, water is perfectly fine (comes from my Datnoid tank)

Today I notice it stop swimming and stay on the top, so I did a quick water change, few hours later, its dead.

This is what I think it happen

Id think the water is too dirty, it was fill with a bit of dead blood worms and a lot of pleco poo (the pleco survived, and the snail too). It was a routine of water change everyday, but after a long working day. Id feel tired / lazy and didn't do it, I regret now! x.x Another $26 down the drain :irked:

or maybe its the oil or salt from the anchovy that Id feed my big IT everyday (I change my dat's tank every few days) x.x;;

can't be lazy nesss since it was geting water change every day must have been oil or salt :(

sorry for your loss...

But, what do you mean "the water comes from the Datnoid tank"?

how big is the Jar's tank?

and why do you feed anchovies to your Dats?

"the water comes from the Datnoid tank"

If I read correctly, why do you take (dirty) water from your Datnoid tank to do your water change. Why don't you use fresh, clean water?

My jar tank is 10G

I get my water from dat's tank, because they are not from the tap n its old water and cycle

I feed anchovy, to get my IT off live food, and it got hook on those frozen fish

ammonia lvl in the tap is high, if it doesnt cycle properly, it will kill the fish. My 10G is a bare bottom with only a powerhead, heater and light..

It's fine to use regular tap water as long as you add conditioner. It also doesn't have to be cycled because your not changing all of the water.

The tank itself is .. id think its cycled, because I just let the water sit for a couple of days after I removed my red tail giant gourami to the other tank. The tank is full of algae thats why you saw in my other thread of the jardini with a pleco.

but it doesnt have a filter

I can't keep it with the datnoid either, cause its shape and size is same as the anchovy, its gonna be one glup and gone

true, ...but, its also used water...and its not "clean" at all...using this water would defeat the whole purpose of changing the water at all (your Dats already urinated and pooped in it )..next time just use tap (clean) water and dechlore ;)
