nah the scales are there!! there lifting! like it got an under scale pimple lol

it seems like early stages of dropsy to me. a very undisputed disease. as far as i know there's no cure for dropsy. it's because some kind of virus. and every scales of your fish is lifting caused by the fluid's pressure from inside of your fish body. once it reach the kidney you must prepare to buy a new one..

probably juss rubd up against decor, juss treatment as other members suggested it will b fine

put salt and place it in a divider with no ornaments/tankmates. see what happens after a week. if it's still there or getting worse it could be a fungus, then get pimafix/melafix for it. arowanas in my experience are very hardy.

looks like he just bruised himself
hope he pulls through

. If the scales seem to be raised in a small area than that's what most likely it is. Fortunately a salt treatment to a salinity level of 0.3% over a 3 day period with a temp in the mid 70's and antibiotics usually take care of Costia. I would get the medicated food kind because I know people with Koi who had to treat costia and they had to inject the antibiotic into the fish.

This is treatment for Costia-----I would google that and see if it's got the same effects as what is happening to the Aro-

seems to be goin away guys!! however hes keeping up with treatment till he's sure!! thanks heaps for all the info and ill keep u all posted!!

Dropsy is the build up of acistic fluid in the abdominal area which causes the area to look like a pinecone. I highly doubt the Jardini has dropsy if its going away so quickly.

I had a Festea that the same thing happened to years back. It almost looks like something is pushing the scales from the inside. He died shortky after. I hope the Jar doesnt have the same fate. I still don't know the cause.

just rang my mate....seems like it's gone away...all scales have gone back to normal...still a lil pink tho...
