Jardini not swimming

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think this tank doesn't even have filtration... Looks like it's the power head alone. Definitely need to stop live feeding the jar... Poor fish looks very stressed, arowanas aren't supposed to "rest" they're usually very active regardless the size. A new tank is the first thing you'll have to work with, then the tank mates, then the filtration, then the feeding. Wrong wrong wrong.

His filtration is basically the common pleco and moss balls.

The fish is sick because you have a 17" arowana in a 55 gallon tank. In your other post you mention that you know the tank is too small but "lol he seems used to it".

Some people come here and don't quite have all the facts but want to learn better husbandry. They generally get kind responses and information from experienced fish keepers even when their set ups or feeding practices aren't ideal.

You on the other hand are essentially knowingly and willing providing improper conditions for an animal which is down right cruel. Your food is wrong, the tank is wrong, the tank mates are wrong, and you're worried about adding 200 moss balls.

The only humane choices you can make here are buying a bigger tank or rehoming the fish. /rant
