Jardini on Deathbed - Help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also doubt it. looks like a swimming blader problem. It happens and it is not your fault, realy.

Well, the little guy didn't make it through the night. Thanks for the help everyone.

It's frustrating really, I made sure his environment was perfect for this little guy...his tankmates are doing just great. Does anyone know what causes this condition and how it can be prevented in the future? (Aside from not dragging a fish from a foreign land and dumping him into a tank and trying to duplicate the river and lake water he came from and expect him to be okay)?

Sorry to hear your loss. It happens sometimes. Depending on how well he was care for prior to you buying him makes a difference. Sometimes its the transporting from the distributor to the lfs and then to your home will stress the hell out of the fish and cause it to die.:(

i think the cause is that he wasnt very healthy when you bought him

how long did you have him?

Test the water params, if you don't have a test kit, they're about $35.00, or your lfs will do it for free. If the water is good, I wouldn't stress him with tank changes (water/filter) Put an airstone really close to him or right into his little room but control the current so it doesn't tumble his. Sorry to hear this, good luck. Don't worry, if he's that sick, he won't want to eat, so offer it, remove it, but don't firther pollute it.

Is he a baby? How big? How long have you had him?
Best Regards, Mei
