Defintely an Asian, why? the 5 rows of scales that could easily be counted on the picture... jars have 7-8 rows of scales :) btw, that will always be the distinguishing factor for hardly determinable pictures like this one
yes and jardini, leis have spots/marks on there scales

would like to add, regardless of being a 1.5 Banjar red or green , this arowana has the potential to be stunning, only thing missing is the "spoony" development of the head, which judging by the size (approx 6-8") should have started to develop by now if it had that trait... but for the price of US or SD $800??? I wouldn't buy that at that price, even if that was an RTG ...it is just too expensive

spoonhead only develops if you feed it alot and it becomes real fat and traits

spoonhead characteristics may have more to do with the genes and characteristic traits of the parents/lineage of the fish and less with what food you would feed it, although proper nutrition can greatly develop the body of fish thus enhancing the "spoony" characteristic of this fish so you may be right on that, but if you're saying a fish with no spoonhead characteristics whatsoever from his linneage will suddenly develop the trait if you feed it right? I dont think thats possible IMHO :)

all of my uncle's asian aro(8) he feeds them alot and there fat and all spoonhead buts not that big of a dent

he must be getting them from a good farm that takes good care of spoonhead parent fish to sell spoonhead type offsprings that they produce, I'm sure those 8 spoonhead aro's in one comm. tank (if they are in a comm tank) looks awesome!! JUST TOO ADDICTED TO ASIAN ARO's hehe sorry.lol

yes comm aro tank, 3 Gold XB,1 HBRTG,1 Red,1Green, 2 Banjar Red and he has a silver, leichartdi in there too (1000 gallon) dont have pictures i havent seen his tank for 2 years maybe he changed stocks all aros were around 14"-20"

would like to see his HBRTG together with the XBACKs, Red he has, Im sure it still stands out among the higher classed ones even if its an RTG, its just a very good looking fish (all are) and IMHO, my favorite among them....haha just being biased

his aros are peaceful just the green is kinda rough
