I am a new Jar owner and really like this fish,i would love to hear from other Jar owners past or present.Past experiences would really be appreciated, pics would be great also.We are the "Jar heads" of the Aro community.

i keep the jar with the best barbels
anyways mine was 4" when i got him and after 7 months he is 13" or so
he eats dried shrimp, earthworms, beef heart, chicken heart, ghost shrimps.
lives with 2 RTCs and 2 TSNs at the moment in a 180g
the cats will move out once the pond is done
he eats like a pig when he is in the mood and sometimes he goes on hunger strikes
haven't been able to add anything else into his tank once he touched 8"
he got drop eye due to his glass banging and jumping when he gets skittish on one of his eyes
will move him to a bigger tank once he reaches 19"

Here's my beast. He's mean as hell:) The only fish he tolerates are his pleco buddy and a 20" Marbled Pim. Sometimes he does scrape the catfish up pretty good.

GG had to be moved to another tank. The jardini shredded it.

I like the young juvenile jars that are slim but not skittish... Never even seen that but my guy freaks out a lot which I think of as exercise now. He's a foot long just about. Had him since he was 4 inches.

At first I made him eat pellets by making him go on hunger strikes then i just gave in and had him eat crickets and a few feeders. Now I got him on nightcrawlers, some waxies, ghost shrimps sometimes, pinky mice, and i want to get him started on beefheart. I need to go get that.

And my guy has housed alone his whole life since i bought him. Other then the feeders he lets live for a short period.

oh yeah and my jar has a good case of gill curl and I might have to cut it out if it starts to irritate him... I havn't seen too many Jars with DE... And curls seem to be common among fish.
