Agreed!...cycling the water takes more then a few days esp with a new filter...I would stop feeding, jack the heat up to about 82-84 watch him good just incase he is heat sensitive....Do a good 30-40% water change daily until you see improvement on the fish.....and then you can slow down with the water change and let the beneficial bacteria colonized up... Old media, decorations, switching out the filter from a cycled tank to your current tank, etc... should help jump start your cycling process..but I tell ya,.. your fish is gonna be hurting...so lets just hope the tank cycles fast.... Also, I wouldnt medicate the fish in anyway beside salt if needed unless you're 100% sure you know what he has...I have seen meds kill off more fishes in the hobby, then the illness itself from improper usage....just my two cents...
Do as previous advisors, on big water changes & cut food pollution.
AND immediately go buy jugs of SeaChem Stability and dose every day directly into the filter intakes.
You can't over do that, so I'd be extra generous in this case.
No guarantee once a fish has gone down from toxins though.
Miguels absolutely right... I should really add that in as well.. but in the moment of nursing the fish back to health, I would still recommend keeping the temp higher then lower...and when fish is back to health, I'd follow Miguels advice....
Not sure about the ph levels ill have to check since i dont live in the city where the fish is and moving the fish to a cycled tank might me possible but if not what would you recommend? And what would you recommend I get as far as medication?
