Sorta long story:

I recently purchased a 6 to 7in silver aro from my local lfs, my GF being the sweetheart she is felt that the aro was too lonely by itself, so she went back to the lfs and asked the owner what would be a good mate for the silver........he recommended a 4in jardini  He claimed although the jard is more agressive because it is smaller it won't mess with the silver......too make a long story short I woke up the next morning with the jard missing a few scales :swear: and bit of his fins cut.......

Question: is it true what lfs owner suggested? and should I complain and get my money back, because I do not have enought room for two seperate tanks to house the 2 aros.......or is there a way to get them to play nicely.......thanks ahead of time o' wise ones...

Yeah they probably wont get along in a tank that size, my Jar beat the crap out of my Archer fish in their 75.
he doesnt like any other fish in the tank with him....

You will eventually seperate them!! or you will have a lost!

IMO i think jardinis should be kept by them selves, as when the mature they will not tollerate other fishes, id say take him back and get a datnoid or a couple of silver dollers or you save up for a bigger tank as the silver is goin to soon out grow your 55g trust me i tried it and a month later i had a 120g with him in.;)

Darn lfs owner, don't know why he suggested that. Trying to make a quick buck of the GF, anyways I seperated them, but owner says all sales are final on aros :swear:

Thanks for the help and suggestions............. :D
