I am separating my jar into solitary (perhaps with two dats) soon and i will try to bring out the color like on your jar ... i think barbels are not going to grow any longer though =P
Mine is less than a year old and he is a monster ^^
cool
how big is ur jar
and when you say less than a year old, is it in your care, or its actual age
as i got my jar when he was 5" or so and got him during november 2007, thus i say nearly 1.5 years
i doubt putting dats with a jar would be a good idea

very impressive fish you got there. i can only dream of having my lil jardini grow in that quality. I started feeding mine the diet you mentioned. you made me really glad i grabbed that species. keep us updated- i know you're blowing away some folks with that dark jardini.

I have had my jar for less than a year (from April 2008 if my memory serves). I had him since he was a puny juvenile (as small as they get in the LFS). I have not measured him with a tape but the silver aros are 20+ already and he is catching up real quick ^^
i am gonna try dats since my jar seemed to be fairly peaceful in a comm tank. I am going to let the dats stake the claim to the territory first then i will move the jar from silver comm tank ... not much time lately.
See my jar in silver com tank in one of my threads
