how do those pics say anything for the relitive size of the fish to each other? im not being an arse last time i checked i didnt just say its a disaster im offering u explainations to the character of your fish if you take on bored what im tryna point you towards you have and will have some very nice fish with good chance of growing them into monsters.... why wait until something goes wrong, big pred com tank are a night mare to get right you cant just do want u want it will go wrong, lots of us me in particular have had bad experiences learn from us dude.... ali gars are a big expensive commitment it'll eat ya broke not to mention the setup required to house one long run.... just dont see how it fits ur set up? loose the ali gar! split the jar and look at either some trop or fl/sp gar instead they could well work with armatus n vatf mayb.... but that vatf will be out grown by everything so have a back up hen that occurs and not talking too distan future, like inside the year maybe...

I am getting a 1000gallon built in my apartment in the next 6 months for this purpose. I am also buying a 300gallon to have as a mid range tank, they all will eventually be split into the respective tanks.

Your apartment better be in the basement. A 1000gal is gonna weigh at the least 9000 pounds possibly more depeding on what is in it. Something that big will go through most floors.

First floor apartment in a brand new concrete high rise. I asked about weight restrictions and they have non because each floor is solid concrete rebar.

i have a 17in jar living with six bichirs with no problems... my jar doesnt do well with other mid level or top level swimmers.

A jar starts to develope it's aggression at 8-12" once this starts it escalates to the point where it will not tolerate anything in the tank with it, once it developed it doesn't just go away after a certain size. If you have an aggressive jar it will be aggressive it whole life, if the aggression never starts, you have one of the few peaceful jardinis out there.
