So i have this java fern in my 75 and i got a couple of baby plants off of one of the leaves and i tied them to a piece of driftwood with fishing line and i was wondering how long does it take for the roots to attach to the driftwood and i can take the line off of them. Thanks

Honestly, I never really kept track. Maybe a few months. Your java may take more or less time depending on lighting, ferts, etc. and how fast they grow. Like I said, I never really kept track, so I'm kind of guessing.

I used Zip strips to attach my ferns cause i didnt want to remove the huge piece of driftwood out of the tank. Tried adding some ferns to my 125 central american cichlid tank. The fish have definitely picked at the fern. Pretty slow growing as i only have a simple T8 bulb.

Usually a month before it really grabs hold. Thread or superglue work well and never need to be removed
