I have a java fern (windelov) leaves which was cut by my fahaka puffer last week, they are floating in my tank so I have to remove them and put them in my snail tank.
I noticed that the ferns leaves arent rotting or, is there chance or a possibility maybe that the java fern's leaves that has been cut will still grow small java ferns?

Even if they are just "floating leaves" they will still thrive and will have tiny java fern plantlets?

mine have. but id make sure nothing is nibbling on where its broken off, and of course make sure its not covered in algae. on mine, the roots dont come out of the bottom, but it grows off the side of the plants

when that happens to me the baby plants that grow look weird shaped and kinda odd

doest java fern have a rhizome? so i would guess that it will still need that part of the plnt in order to grow. if there is a small piece of rhizome is should still grow even floating

Java ferns can reproduce in a number of ways. One of these ways is by splitting, and the other is by daughter plantlet. Leaves that have not begun to form a daughter plant will not root. They will stay green for a quite a long time, but will eventually die.

im kinda confused, there are tiny leaves growing perpendicularly to my java leaves that are no longer attached to the plants, did those form when still attached or something?
