Oh alright. Ha...I was a little nervous. That is cool though. Is it a brackish tank? I have heard of some people keeping cichlids in brackish that is why I ask.

Not exactly, it's got salt, but it's rift lake chemistry 8.5-9 ph

Ya, I figured. Cool little tank though man, well done.

I tried Java fern and moss a few years ago and got nowhere. Perhaps my lighting was too dim -- i just have the stock bulp in my perfecto hood.
would people please chime in on minimum fertilizer and lighting recommendations, and anything else you think is necessary.
also, will mono argentus, black-fin silver sharks (columbian sharks) and a jade goby be OK with these plants?

Very few animals munch on these plants. I have goldfish (who are notorious plant-munchers/destoyers) and they leave these plants alone.

It's possible you didn't acclimate the plants correctly to a level of salinity. They have to be slowly transitioned over to salty-water so they don't go into shock and wilt/die.

Mine are low light plants, and one of my java ferns is in a non-lighted plant with some cory fry, and it's doing fine as well, even sitting in a dark corner of the room.
