The food collection is the main reason why i stopped using moss... After it reaches a certain thickness it really traps every bit of crap inside of it, adding to the maintanence...

It's actually starting to grow out a little bit!! I stopped running co2 because I got a few more fish and it has town more in that week then it has the entire time it's been up. Anyone have any reasons as to why? Maybe Java moss doesn't do well with co2???

I have never used co2, What kind of lights are you using, how old?
I found 50/50 acentic.
2700 k CFL both work well as long as their less than 6 months, old. The longer the use the less the spectrum stays good for green plants.
I have used a 6500k natural spectrum. It grows very slowly.

I'm using one finnex stingray and some other off brand I can't remember the name. Big fairly new. Maybe it's just that I haven't had the moss very long and it's finally just starting to grow a little.
