Java moss carpet

Java moss will not stay put in sand alone. It needs to be attached to something (rock, wood, etc). You can buy stainless steel mesh screens and attach it to this then sink that in your tank. Only issue is it may get expensive to cover your entire tank.

Dwarf sagittaria is in my opinion the easiest carpet plant to grow, even in low light set ups.
