will java moss grow like crazy? because someone at my lfs said so and lets just say he isnt the brightest light on the cristmas tree

Depens on al lot of factors in the tank. Usually it won't grow like crazy. When you start adding CO2 it gow's up alot, like with all plants.

yep. it took an entire 55 gallon worth for me. i also helped a buddy remove enough to fill a 5 gallon bucket with no water in it. so yes, it can and will cover everything.

cotton thread. eventually it will dissolve and you'll be left with the moss attached.
