Java Moss

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think i have a clump on my castle that you are welcome too, For some reason it came out a but of a darker green? but durring the daytime it looks bright? odd, must be because i took the pic at 2am, I guess i should have turned the lights on and not just used the room lights and flash..., i think that the shipping would cost around $5-$8 let me know if you want it, the snails come with it BTW..., they seem to breed in it or eat the algae off of it?

that tetra in the right hand corner is about 1-2cm long(1/2")

Its about a fist size right now when its spread out.

I keep java moss in every tank I can. Yeah they do best in lower light situations. I've never seen brown java moss, you probally just have a dead colony. I get my moss from this guy in LA, he claims his moss is older that I am, which I fully believe (if you seen his store). He has filters where plants completely covered the filter and parts of the tank, most his tanks are over 30 years old, and all his tanks are just covered in full lush java moss. Usually, I don't even have to buy it off him, if I get some feeders, some of it gets into the net and bag, and will grow into a giant colony like a month later.:)

lol, i give it away because i have to prune it on a monthly basis, other wise it takes up like 20-30 gallons of space, but it keeps my nitrates low, at about 20 and i do a WC ever 3 weeks or so, sometimes less like 2 weeks....

once done i plan on infecting my pond with it too...

sure, that price doesn't seem too bad. i found out since we last talked that you were not in the US so i was looking for another generous person a little closer to wisconsin. haven't heard back from any of them yet, so go ahead and get me a shipping quote so i can send you the moola.

java moss is mad if it's grown/planted right! the deep green is awesome! collects heaps of gunk after a while tho
