finally someone understood, thanks guys.

I would've taped it but my rhom is very camera shy, especially with lights on. maybe I need to get night vision video camera.
maybe next time, I'll give it a try.

anytime, well be looking forward to your video, those of us who dont partake in the hugging of trees.:WHOA:

If your fish could eat other food, would you still feed it a fish or anything else just to see it kill it? If you would, then you are sadistic. Especially if you record the thing too.

me personally no, i only feed live to my elongatus, it makes me feel bad but im happy my fish is getting better at the same time. ive been feeding my 6 inch black rhom only fillets and shrimp no feeders for 6 months and when my friends begged me to feed him a live fish i gave into peer pressure but the funny thing is he didnt attach he just checked it out and went back into hiding, the room was dark too soo i was very suprised. after i saw him ignore the feeder i removed it ( my friends were giving me all kinds of crap) and vowed never to give into peer pressure again with feeding my piranhas that will accept dead meat live food. i must admit thoe i do enjoy seeing my elongatus hunt. the elong wouldnt touch any non moving food i even tried tieing the silverside to a bobber nothing was working. but if feeding your piranhas live meant bigger and better fish i would have all my fish on a live diet. my worst fear is internal parasites. i quarantine my elongs feeders and only buy quality fish for him ( no overstocked feeder diseased fish) ive considered catfish before. i think jp just enjoys seeing what his rhom is capable of doing. not seeing a catfish suffer.

first of all, to take any fish out of any river, lake, ocean and keep it in a confined space such as home aquarium is some what sadistic. why we keep fish in aquarium? isn't that for our personal enjoyment?
second, now you have to remove part of what's built into its DNA, isn't that wrong? we've been doing that to many other animals such as lions, tigers, etc. in the zoo. keep them well fed is one thing but you think they rather run free in the plains and forests hunting preys or enjoy being locked up in a cage and being feed like some soulless shells?
for those who totally against feeding live and that's fine, do whatever makes you happy. However, that doesn't mean those who decide to let the fishes follow their instinct are wrong and should be criticised, as long as the feeders are healthy. We do not jump on you for removing part of nature out of the predator's gene by feeding them dead meat. We respect what you do to your fishes and hopefully you would respect what we do as well, there's no right or wrong here.

 Well in my opinion jp has a point about taking it out of its natural habitat and confinding it in a tank. Like the other member said this is a piranha thread not any other fish thread.

We cant judge jp of his action in putting the cat in the P tank although most of us know the P will own him specially the type of species.

I feed my P's live fish once in a while just for the reason that they need to have their natural animal behaviour use and that is hunting and eating live fish.

I have a pond with tilapia that is well feed and their purpose is to be live feeder to my P's. I feed my P's tilapia every 3rd week.

Peace to all and chill. :chillpill:

Very well put, and I think alot of people ignore the facts you have stated. On another hand I can't say I agree with the v. taping part thou, but to each there own.
Happy fish keeping..

Didnt he say that he put the cat in there because he was taking down the cat tank. He didnt intentionally feed it to the rhom. Another thing, the cat could have been eatin by a bass in the wild and the rhom would eat anything that he wants, including another rhom. What happened was only the fish being natural.
