i'm tossing around the idea of doing a small 20-30g sump for this tank, since it's reef ready. but since ill be injecting co2, i need to think about how im gonna design it since i need to minimize water movement. we'll see :)

As far as a sump with CO2, just make all the media fully submersed, and don't use a drip plate. If you minimize the turbulence in the sump, then you should have minimal CO2 loss. Make sure the drain outlet is under water, then just use eggcrate dividers, and let it flow sideways through the media.

Otherwise, using the FX5 through the overflow openings is a pretty good idea and will keep the tank real clean looking.
