Is it possible? I notice my texan and my JD seem to like hanging out an aweful lot. I really don't want her (the JD) to breed at the moment. They haven't but I was wondering if it is possible.

Yes they can. I heard they are pretty sweet hybrids.

they are pretty close in regards to wild geographical location so its probably is possible, iv seen weirder crosses thats for sure just leave in the babies to be feeders if they do

mine have paired up to! the female texan (carpintis) is ferocious! and although living ina 200 gallon with amogst other things a full size breeding pair of Veija Synspilum, they are looking like they will lay any day!

Ill keep you updated if you wouldnt mind doing the same, race ya! ha ha ha

That hybrid actually look pretty nice!

yeah they did look nice, but did you guys read all of that page those people sounded like they had no idea what they were doing and had fish in a 20H!!

I used him as a source of information before I came here. The author to all of the pages is an older man and when he learned fish keeping a few decades ago most of the tank sizes he listed were generally accepted back then. Compared to a lot of the horrible sources you could find on the internet, his pages are pretty accurate and he has a wide variety of fish pages. You also have to keep in mind he owns a pet store, where is most cases the larger fish are traded in. He can't have a few 100g+ tanks on reserve just for fish that get traded in.
